Position
We are seeking a Mine Planner for a full time/regular position. The role will be based at the Minto mine, which is a camp-based operation with a two week on/two week off rotation.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have;
• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering;
• P.Eng. Mining registered in British Columbia;
• Minimum of five (5) years underground mine engineering experience;
• Minimum of five (5) years of mine planning experience;
• Strong computer skills for MS Office suite, as well as working knowledge of Vulcan, AutoCAD;
• Ability to develop and foster strong working relationships;
• Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
• Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
Responsibilities
• Compile the project input to the strategic business plans for the mine;
• Interpret the mining operational plan and production results to develop a monthly operation plan;
• Liaise with other related disciplines to gather information necessary to fulfil duties;
• Mine design;
• Scheduling of Mine designs and LOM planning;
• Responsible for the planning/coordination/liaising of planning meeting at pre-determined frequency;
• Highlight deviations to the plan and identify opportunities to catch up or exceed the plan;
• Portray true reflection of mining operations and geological features on the plan;
• Monitor modifying factors through technical analysis;
• Perform duties of technical assurance;
• Ensure that safety issues are reported and promptly remedied;
• Demonstrate safety leadership within a team environment and promote environmental awareness in all work or task related duties;
• Maintain a high standard of performance in your duties;
• Be an effective communicator in English (verbal and written) at all levels, including keeping your cross-shift and other team members fully informed at all times
• Participate in site specific training;
• Comply with company standards, as well as Yukon Territory and Canadian federal standards;
• Other duties may be assigned from time to time as required by the Company.
